Episode 4-A: The Northwind Special




Ever wonder how The YWO Show got its start? Well The Northwind did, and recently sat down with the guys to discuss Marquette's hottest podcast for a full page article in this week's edition. Of course the mic was running, and we'd like to offer it to you, the fans, as a special midweek edition of The YWO Show.

Now keep in mind that its not as funny as our normal stuff, but to make it more interesting, we'd like to introdce you to The YWO Show: Northwind Special Drinking Game! Simply take a shot anytime that Adam mentions anything having to do with "Middle America," "Blue Collar," or "The Working Man;" take a shot after each of Adam's thoughtful pauses, and if you're feeling particularly adventureous, down one anytime one of our guys mentions the word "medium." Our FIRST Contest!

The YWO Show would like to announce its first ever contest, "The YWO Show, NAME THE ACCRONYM CONTEST." Alot of people are asking what "YWO" stands for. It used to stand for, "Yooper Wrestling Organization," but that really doesn't fit anymore, so we're sending it out to the listeners to come up with our new name.

Just tell us what YOU think "YWO" should stand for, and you could not only name Marquette's #1 rated podcast, but also get one of these GREAT prize packages:

You Get What You Pay For...

I've been saying for quite some time now just how much of a fan I am of the open-source audio recording and editing program Audacity, but it is true what they say, "you get what you pay for." Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the last two shows that we have recorded with Audacity have had corrupted files in them. This past one was especially bad.

Long story short, the episode that was SUPPOSED to be Episode 4 had to be scrapped. Unfortunately, it just would not have been any fun to listen to. So we will be taking a one week hiatus and releasing a new episode this Sunday. We will be recording tomorrow night (11-03-2005) in the FRED Room of Spooner Hall in Northern Michigan University (show starts at 9:00 pm), and we will have free gifts for the first 20 people in attendance so get there early!

Sorry about the inconvenience again, and if any of you have any suggestions about the problems with Audacity, or perhaps another PC or Mac program for recording audio drop me line.

Hope to see all you fans at our live recording.
